“It doesn’t make any sense,” I said. My last patient of the day wanted to tell me about a new church she was attending.
She replied, “Does it have to make sense?”
I said, “Probably not, but if it can, why not let it.”
We spent about 15 minutes that night discussing Christianity. Jesus taught that we are spirit. He showed us the possibilities. Want to feed 5000 people? Give me a couple of fish. Want to be well? Just have faith. Want to walk on water? Let me show you.
She said, “What about the cross?”
After teaching spirituality, he was put to death. Three days later he came back. Here I am! Remember what I told you? Here is the proof!
She went home with a smile.
A week later she came back for another appointment, “Remember the discussion we had last time?”
I nodded.
“I went home and told my husband, ‘I just had the most beautiful conversation with Dr. Bob.’”
David said, “I can tell. You’re just glowing.”
Should we all have spiritual conversations and leave glowing?
I have never believed in the idea that Jesus died for our sins. It makes no sense to me.
I’m considering writing a book on Christianity. The basis of the book will be using The Bible to question what so many preachers are preaching. Perhaps I will be the one to change my mind.
Smarter people than me believe Jesus will save them after they die. Perhaps I will join them.
Right now, I believe Jesus was talking about being the spirit and taking control of our bodies. However, I still need to do the deep dive.
Do you have questions about Christianity?
